Inside the Workplace:
Building Community Through Workplace Experience: Sarah Benjamin’s Journey at Lemonade
✍️ Written by Amber Alston 🕚 7-Minute Read

Some people see office management as logistics—ensuring desks are organized, snacks are stocked, and meetings run smoothly. But for Sarah Benjamin, Office Experience Manager at Lemonade, it’s about something much bigger: building a workplace that “feels like home.”
Since joining Lemonade in 2019, Sarah has played a key role in shaping the employee experience, making sure that every detail—from onboarding new hires to curating the perfect snack lineup—enhances the culture of connection, collaboration, and comfort that Lemonade is known for.
From Tech Insurance to Office Culture: Sarah’s Career Evolution
Lemonade is not your typical insurance company. Founded in 2016, the company set out to disrupt the industry by blending technology with social impact. As a Certified B Corp, Lemonade donates a portion of unused claim money to charities, an initiative that has contributed over $10 million since its launch. This commitment to doing good was one of the things that drew Sarah to the company in the first place.
Starting in a different corner of the company, Sarah eventually found her passion in OfficeOps, a team dedicated to making Lemonade’s physical workspaces as engaging and functional as possible. The role is a perfect blend of problem-solving, creativity, and people-first thinking—qualities that have made Sarah an indispensable part of the team.
“I love that I get to focus on the office experience and ensure that everything from daily operations to employee perks supports our culture,” she says. “My role allows me to make an impact on how people feel when they come into work every day.”
Crafting an Engaging Office Experience
One of Sarah’s biggest priorities? Ensuring that Lemonade’s offices remain a place where employees genuinely want to be.
After the pandemic, companies worldwide struggled with return-to-office strategies. At Lemonade, the focus wasn’t just on getting people back—it was about making the office a destination worth commuting for.
That’s where Crafty came in.
“Before we partnered with Crafty, we were managing office snacks and beverages ourselves,” she continues. “We’d have different vendors just drop things off, and it was up to our team to stock and organize everything. It was time-consuming and didn’t scale with our company’s growth.”
By working with Crafty’s full-service food and beverage program, Lemonade was able to streamline inventory, optimize budgets, and create an effortless kitchen experience for employees. From cold brew on tap to curated snack rotations, Crafty helped turn Lemonade’s office kitchen into a central hub for collaboration and connection.
“One of my favorite things we do is our ‘Snack of the Month’—a fun way to introduce new snacks and get employees involved in the selection process” she adds. “People love seeing their favorites return, and it creates excitement around something as simple as office snacks.”
The Power of Data-Driven Decision-Making
Beyond convenience, Crafty’s analytics tools have helped Sarah and her team fine-tune their workplace experience strategy.
“As a tech company, we rely on data for everything—and our office experience is no different,” shares Sarah. “With Crafty, we can see exactly which products are performing well, what’s being wasted, and where we can make better decisions. It allows us to stay within budget while keeping employees happy.”
From tracking beverage consumption trends to adjusting snack offerings based on real-time insights, Crafty’s platform ensures that Lemonade’s food program remains efficient, cost-effective, and tailored to employees’ preferences.
A Culture That Extends Beyond Work
For Sarah, workplace experience isn’t just about amenities—it’s about creating a culture where employees feel warm and welcome.
From hosting field day competitions to celebrating National Donut Day, Lemonade’s OfficeOps team is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections beyond the 9-to-5.
“We want the office to feel like a second home,” shares Sarah. “Whether it’s a fully stocked kitchen, comfy seating areas, or fun team events, everything we do is about creating an environment where people feel comfortable, engaged, and excited to be here.”
As Lemonade continues to grow, Sarah’s mission remains the same: to make the office a space that inspires creativity, collaboration, and community—with a little help from great snacks, of course.
